In July 2020, the Georgia Brownfield Association (GBA) sponsored a virtual workshop on the Georgia Environmental Protection Division’s draft Area Averaging Guidance to assess soil compliance for direct contact exposure scenarios. Stephen B. Ellingson, Ph.D. provided a section-by-section review of the draft guidance document. He also described “real world” applications of several area averaging approaches.
